In 2019 I joined the founding committee of the WayWORD festival, run by the University of Aberdeen’s WORD Centre for Creative Writing. As a committee we developed the concept, themes and programme for the festival, and each took responsibility for organising specific events within the festival: I devised and organised the Doric Performers event, including writing (with a team) and directing the Scotland the What? inspired sketches; and I filmed and edited the ‘Untold Stories’ Virtual walking tour with Alison McCall from Aberdeen Women’s Alliance (see it below!)
I enjoyed working on WayWORD so much – it was certainly my proudest moment… until WayWORD 2021 happened!
